Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I have to submit a birth certificate for my child?

The Washington State Youth Soccer Association (WSYSA) requires that all players’ ages be verified before they can be placed on a team.  To provide SSC with proof of your child’s age, please mail a photocopy (no originals) of a birth certificate, passport or state ID immediately after registration.  Hospital or baptismal certificates cannot be accepted.  Send proof of age to:our mailing address.

What does my child need to play soccer?

The club will provide you with a jersey to wear for the season.  At the end of the season, usually at the last game, you turn in the borrowed jersey.  You provide black shorts, black socks, shin guards & soccer cleats.  You can get these locally at any sports store and some department stores.  Some suggested locations are: Sportsplex Proshop, Prostock, Sportman’s Chalet or Soccer City.  If you want to get used gear you can usually find something at Value Village, Salvation Army or Goodwill.

Do I live in the Southside Soccer Area?
